Madonna and Child of the Stars

Madonna and Child of the Stars was influenced by Orthodox Christian art from previous centuries, particularly Ethiopian and Coptic Egyptian art with its simplified lines, rich patterns, and direct gaze. This piece is an icon-like but contemporary art piece which invites the viewer to contemplation, thought, and prayer. The details are achieved by painting with enamel paints that are fired, and also by sandblasting on flashed/layered glass.
