Stained Glass Process
Every stained glass piece begins with an idea, and the artistic process of transforming the ideas into a concrete reality begins with sketches. After a design comes together on paper I begin to experiment with color combinations, all the while thinking about the types of glass that will embody the ideas in the best way.
Stained Glass Custom Designs
After the glass is chosen, I cut the pieces of glass to the pattern's shapes and sizes, and then pieces of lead are placed between the glass pieces and soldered to make the whole panel hold together. The panel is cemented to fill all the spaces between the glass and the lead, and it makes the panel much stronger and more rigid. After cementing the piece is thoroughly cleaned to complete the process.
Stained Glass Custom Design is a perfect solution for achieving a specific size, style, and color palette in the finished product. If you are not clear on what you want in the beginning of the process, you should know that is typical, and we will work through it together. Part of what happens in the early conversations is that I help you sort out your own ideas about the design, and guide the process toward a design that will please you and yet be workable.
